Hope Woven into Every Piece: Our Partnership with the Nightbirde Foundation

At R. Riveter, we believe in more than craftsmanship and style; we believe in purpose. That’s why we are deeply honored to partner with the Nightbirde Foundation, a mission born from courage, hope, and the impact of one remarkable life: Jane Marczewski (“Nightbirde”).

Who Was Nightbirde, and What She Taught Us

Many came to know Jane through her audition on America’s Got Talent, where she touched millions with her powerful voice and her unforgettable message:

“You don’t have to wait for everything to be okay to be happy.”

Jane’s journey — her music, her vulnerability, and her strength — continues to inspire. After her passing in 2022 due to a battle with breast cancer, her family carried this spirit forward by founding the Nightbirde Foundation. The nonprofit supports artists with breast cancer, many of whom face both medical and financial challenges during a difficult diagnosis.

What the Nightbirde Collection Represents

Our special edition Nightbirde Collection is more than a product line; it’s a tribute. Each piece is inspired by Jane’s legacy of joy and hope, even in the face of hardship. From material choices to design details, we set out to create items that carry meaning, comfort, and beauty.

Here are a few highlights:

  • Jane Zip-Up Hoodie: Specifically designed with comfort in mind. Recognizing that for some battling breast cancer, even raising arms can be painful, we chose a zip-front instead of a pullover. Soft fabric and thoughtful construction were top priorities.

  • The Jane Crossbody Bag: Reimagined in pebbled mousse-colored leather with a delicate light pink trim. It stands as a symbolic nod to Jane Marczewski and her artistry.

  • The Hat: Minimal, gentle, everyday. A reminder to carry Jane’s words with us: “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.” Small in form, but big in meaning.

How You Can Help

Launching September 25, 2025, the Nightbirde Collection is set to raise awareness and funding. 5% of net proceeds from this collection will go directly to the Nightbirde Foundation, to aid musicians with breast cancer who often lack access to vital care and support.

We also invite our community to join us in celebrating at our Launch Event:

  • When: Thursday, September 25, 2025 | 6–9 p.m. EST

  • Where: R. Riveter’s new store-in-store location at Cedar and Thread, 1919 Lancaster Road, Granville, OH 43023

Why This Matters

  • Giving Back Where It Counts: Many artists with breast cancer struggle not just with treatments, but access — financially, emotionally, logistically. Jane’s foundation fills a gap by helping those who often fall through the cracks.

  • Honoring a Legacy: Jane taught us that joy isn't something you postpone. It’s something you choose, even on hard days. Every piece in this collection carries that lesson.

  • Creating Meaningful Fashion: We believe the best products are those that resonate — not just because of quality, but because of the story behind them. This collection is an expression of values, artistry, and community.

What We Hope You Take Away

When you wear the Jane Zip-Up Hoodie. When you carry The Jane Camera Bag. When you pull on The Hat — know that you’re doing more than using a beautiful item. You’re sharing a message. You’re choosing hope. You’re supporting real people in a real fight.

Because you don’t have to wait for everything to be okay to be happy. And because every act of kindness — every purchase, every share, every conversation — makes a difference.
