Hope Blooms

This year, Fight Like Rosie became more personal than I ever expected.

This summer, cancer became part of my own story. Since then, life has looked different—surgery, treatment, appointments, hard days, good days, and a lot of unknowns in between.

And through all of it, I’ve learned just how much hope can carry you.

“Sometimes hope is big. Sometimes it’s simply enough to get you through one more day.”

My cancer is not breast cancer, and I never want my story to take away from the women and families facing breast cancer. If anything, walking through my own diagnosis has deepened my appreciation for the people and organizations who step in when someone’s world changes overnight.

Because cancer doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed. It touches families, routines, work, finances, and all the little pieces of everyday life. You quickly realize how much it matters to have people willing to help carry some of that weight.

Why the Peony

This year, we chose the peony as the symbol at the heart of Fight Like Rosie—a symbol of hope, resilience + strength.

That meaning hits differently for me now.

“Hope doesn’t mean pretending the hard days aren’t hard. It means believing there is still something worth holding onto through them.”

The peony reminds me that even after the hardest seasons, there can still be room to bloom.

And this year, we wanted that symbol to do more.

R. Riveter is proud to partner with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.®, with eligible Fight Like Rosie product sales supporting its Military Patient Relief Fund and helping provide critical assistance to military-connected individuals and families facing breast cancer.

Their journey is not my journey. Their diagnosis is not my diagnosis. But I understand more deeply now what it means to need hope—and what it means when someone shows up to help you hold onto it.

“Sometimes hope is all we have. And sometimes, it’s exactly what we need.”

For those fighting.
For those standing beside them.
For those we carry with us.

Hope blooms.
