About Hawthorne Canvas

A story woven in.

Inspired by the rich character of vintage tapestry, Hawthorne Canvas brings together warm golden tones, faded florals, and a beautifully textured, woven look. The pattern feels collected over time — nostalgic and storied, yet made to be carried every day.

With its perfectly vintage feel and autumn palette, Hawthorne is a standout for the season while still feeling timeless enough to carry well beyond it.

Please note: Pattern placement will vary from piece to piece, making each Hawthorne bag uniquely its own.

Inspiration Behind the Name

The Dot is named for Dorothy “Dot” Braden, a high school physics and French teacher who answered a call from the Army seeking college-educated Southern teachers during World War II.

Within weeks, Dot was immersed in highly classified work as a cryptanalyst, helping decipher Japanese military communications. The work was so secret that she and her colleagues couldn't speak about what they did for decades.

After the program was declassified, Dot eventually shared her remarkable story, preserving the legacy of the women whose behind-the-scenes work played an important role in the war effort.

The Dot carries her name as a reminder that some of the most extraordinary stories are the ones that quietly wait to be told.

How to Clean a Canvas Bag

When spot cleaning the canvas, we recommend using a brush or sponge with water only to gently wipe the soiled area. We do not recommend using cleaners or products other than water, as they may discolor the canvas.
