Meet the Riveter: Barbra

Name: Barbra SYear started at R.Riveter: 2016 Position: Liner Riveter Military Affiliation: Air Force Current Base: Seymour Johnson AFB First, tell us a little bit about yourself. I am a mom of two and have been and Air Force wife for 22 years. I taught special ed preschool for 8 years and then have been a stay at home mom. I am very active as a spouse on base. I began sewing when I was about 9 years old in 4 H. I sew, quilt, paint signs for fun;) Describe your typical work day.I sew in the early mornings Monday through Friday:) I work on the liners like an assembly line. Why did you join R.Riveter? I wanted to belong to a group of military spouses who shared the love of sewing that I did. How has being a military spouse affected your journey and your career? We have moved every 2 to 3 years since 1996. It became hard to be a teacher in so many different states and I wanted to be home with my babies. How has R.Riveter affected your life? It has given me a bit of purpose for my favorite hobby: sewing. What do you love most about what you do? I love being able to work at my own pace:) What is one of your most proud moments at R.Riveter? Purchasing a purse with a liner I made! Favorite part about working at R.Riveter?
