1. First, tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in Fort Wayne, IN.  After college I moved to Savannah, GA and worked as nurse.  It was there in Savannah that I met my Army guy.  We have been married for 18 years, have 3 girls, and dog.  We have moved 11 times in our 18 years of marriage and I have enjoyed every duty station.

2. Why did you join R.Riveter?
Prior to working for R. Riveter I spent my time getting in a daily workout, volunteering at schools, volunteering as a rec sport coach, and taking care of our household.  My kids were in middle school and high school so volunteering at schools was not needed as much.  I had time to give but also had the opportunity to choose how I spent my time. I read an article on R. Riveter and the story Cameron and Lisa told was part of my story.  I identified with their struggles of relocating, finding a job, and reestablishing a household. After 12 years of being a stay at home mom and professional volunteer I filled out an R. Riveter application, went for an interview, and was offered a position.

3. How has being a military spouse affected your journey and your career?
I worked as an RN for 10 years.  I quit just before baby #2 was born and 6 months later we moved overseas.  I found it hard to maintain my nursing license overseas, It was hard finding a job as a nurse overseas, and it was hard being so far away from home and often being a single parent due to my husband being TDY or deployed. Best thing about being a military spouse is the traveling to new places and the people you meet along the way.

4. How has R.Riveter affected your life?
I enjoy going to work everyday and being a part of the R. Riveter mission.

5. What do you love most about what you do?
In the warehouse we assemble the bags. We are the ones who put the pieces and parts  together and bring all the remotes across the country together by sewing the bags. There is a lot of pride that goes into each bag.

6. Favorite part about working at R.Riveter? I enjoy the people I work with, I love to work with my hands, and I love being a part of the mission.

7. Favorite R.Riveter handbag?
My favorite R. Riveter handbag is an heirloom bag. I love making them because its so personable and each one is so unique and has it’s own story.

8. Fun Fact about yourself?
I am very competitive and I love playing volleyball. I played in college and still love to play today.
