1. First, tell us a little bit about yourself.
Being a military spouse definitely comes with its own unique challenges. Moving so often, and never having the support of family close by makes it rough in a lot of ways. Childcare can be a struggle, and that can make finding a job more difficult than it already is as a military spouse.
2. Why did you join R. Riveter?
The constant change of people and "home" can be difficult to handle. There's so much that is constantly in flux with military life.
3. How has R. Riveter affected your life?
R Riveter gave me the opportunity to work when I thought it was impossible. I didn't have to worry about childcare and moving to a different state. I could set my own hours. (I could also work in my pajamas, which was an unexpected perk!) It also gave me back a sense of identity and self worth that I felt that I had started to lose. As a military spouse, so much of our lives get tangled up in our husbands' careers. Jobs, friends, home, they're all going to change when Uncle Sam tells you to go. My job at R Riveter is something that is mine. It's something that I can keep. It can be a constant in a life where most things aren't.
4.What do you love most about what you do?
What I love most is probably just being able to say that I work for R Riveter. I have always loved the mission behind the company. It's something that I am proud to be a part of.
5. What is one of your most proud moments at R. Riveter?
Recently, I was made the Liner Liaison. That would have to be it.
6. Favorite part about working at R.Riveter?
I get to work in my pj's and watch Netflix. Duh.
Seriously though, this is an exciting company to be a part of. Watching the growth that has happened over the last four years has been amazing. When I started, Cameron was still running things from her garage. Now she takes selfies with Mark Cuban! Lol
7. Favorite R.Riveter handbag?
The Otto. Ironically, I don't have one!
8. Fun fact about yourself?
Was offered the opportunity to take over a sewing machine repair business. This was a direct result of the amount of time I spent hanging out at this man's shop after starting to work for R Riveter!
