Why did you want to become a Riveter?
I was originally drawn to the company because of the mission, but I love sewing and it allows me to work at home. I'm doing something I love and making money doing it!
What is one of your favorite things about being a Riveter?
Being able to sew all the time!
How has R.Riveter impacted your life?
It has given me a sense of purpose and allows me to make money and contribute to our monthly bills.
What does it mean to you to wear many hats - military spouse, maker, parent (to humans or animals), etc?
For me, wearing many hats comes with being a mom in general, but adding military spouse to the mixture makes me have to do all of the jobs more often. I have to learn to juggle a lot more things and not have a constant source of family nearby that I can rely on.
Tell us about a typical "day in the work-life":
I usually start sewing in the afternoon when my daughter is done with homeschool classes, work for a couple hours until my husband gets home from work, and occasionally after my daughter goes to bed. It is super flexible and I love that!
What's on your "work jams" playlist?
I am a big country fan, so I listen to a lot of satellite radio or I'll have some HGTV on in the background and vicariously dream about what my home will look like one day post-military.

1. My husband and I have been together since we were 15 (2001).
2. I'm a doula and childbirth educator.
3. I have 30 nieces and nephews!
