Letters of Gratitude: Letters to the Military Family

Being a Military Family has many unique privileges as well as challenges. I hope that today you will pause as a family and remember that your nation is forever grateful to you for your service. Your support of your service member is critical to the success of the mission of maintaining our freedom. The relationships forged in Military Families are unlike any others and will bond you together in a special way forever. Embrace the blessings, because that is what you will remember in the years to come. The hardships will fade away. I know - my husband served 24 years in the Navy and we raised 2 awesome children. We treasure the happy memories and can now laugh about the hard times.

Be encouraged, dear ones, your service is important and appreciated! ðLove your service member and be strong in your support of the mission.

With faithful patriotic love,
Debbie

Dear Military Family

My father and father-in-law served in WWII and my husband served during Vietnam.

We know the sacrifices that a family makes when a family member is serving your country.

May this world someday be at peace and may all who serve return to their families safe and sound.

Thank you for your service and God Bless you all.

Hello. I do not know you, but I do know what you service man or woman is doing for our country and my freedom. I just missed the Vietnam war and I do remember what my family was going through just thinking about my leaving. I will pray for you and for the safe return of your loved one.
I cannot imagine how much you must suffer not knowing what is going on every single moment of every day that your loved one is not home with you.
I truly love my country and the freedom that it stands for, because of your loved one. please pass this on to them so that they also will know how important they are to all whom value what we stand for.
I will be here for you if you need anything that I can do for you. the signature on my email reads;
Our flag flies not because of the wind that blows it, but because of the breath of the servicemen whose breath blows it.
once again, my prayers for your family in this time of thinking about your loved one.

Two simple words can never do justice for the sacrifice your family and your spouse make to serve this great nation. Too often freedom can be taken for granted, and it's important for you to know that not a day goes by that I'm thankful for your family and spouse , and every person who has raised their right hand and pledged their commitment to the United States and our allies.

Forever I'll be grateful.

God bless you, and these United States of America.

Sincerely,

Judith Schloss Markowitz and Family

Hello Military Family,

There are no words meaningful enough to capture the appreciation I have for each of you. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to each other that allows your soldier to take on a task many aren't brave enough to. May you all feel each other's love the most as you grow to meet the challenges ahead. As a fellow military spouse, I want to thank you all for your service and sacrifice.

----------

From my family to yours,

Thank you for all of the sacrifices that you make for the benefit of the United States and her citizens and allies. I cannot imagine all of the stress and struggles that your family feel because of deployment, moving, or reuniting after long periods apart. We hope that knowing you are thought of and supported can be a little light to brighten your days.

You are in our prayers for safety and peace. May God keep you and all military families in His loving care.

Christine

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for raising your child the way you did. You raised up one of the bravest Americans we have. Being a parent isn't easy...and it is even harder being the parent of a child that serves in the armed forces. I know because I am the mother of a Marine who is currently deployed somewhere in the Middle East. My heart is so full of pride and love for my son, and I miss him every day. God bless you and your family for all the sacrifices you have made as well! You are not alone on this journey. Semper fidelis!

I am truly amazed at your strength and bravery, all of you. My husband went overseas when we were dating, no kids or house to manage on my own while he was away. For you to carry on and count the days until your loved one is home again has to be incredibly difficult, but you do it and my family is grateful for it. We thank you all for your service.

----------

Thank you for teaching your loved one to be brave.

Thank you for teaching them to be selfless.

Thank you for teaching them to love America.

Thank you for teaching them to be a team player.

Thank you for teaching them to follow their dreams/ calling.

Thank you for supporting them even though you are separated from them.

Thank you for your resilience, they learned it from you.

God bless our soldiers and their families.

Dear Military Family,
Although there really are no words adequate to express the appreciation I feel for you please know that I am personally so aware of all you sacrifice in order to serve the country we are so fortunate to call home. I've never served but my father was a Major in the Marine Corps & I work in a CDC on base. I see the military child reaching for the parent not there. My child never served but married a brave SF Hero who never returned to the home he had so newly created with her & their newborn son. I see you mourning your spouse who made the ultimate sacrifice. I thank you for your service. My grandson is not in the military but will always know the brotherhood of the Green Beret SF family as they strive to embrace and protect the child of their fallen brother. I see this child held close by the men who fought along side his father. I am a civilian and I see so many civilians unaware of the sacrifices you make as a spouse, as a warrior and as a child of a warrior. Please know I see you and I will always strive to help others to also see you and understand the sacrifices you have made or continue to make. Thank you from my whole heart!!

It must be difficult to be away from your loved one. I pray they all come home safe. May God keep you strong to take care of your family. Thank you to your family.

Dear Dear Military Family, your dedication and service to our country is invaluable to the freedom of America. You are so appreciated and loved by family. My father was a prisoner of war in WWII. He was a tail gunner and his plane was shot down over, what was then Czechoslovakia. He was transported in a boxcar, made to walk hundreds of miles and imprisoned for 6 months before being released at the end of the war. We know your sacrifice, from your loved one being deployed, to the family left behind. Even though I wasn't born during those years, I have read letters from the Army to my mom listing him as missing in action and had many family conversations about those years. Without brave, strong people like you, we would not have America. Thank you so much for your service. You are truly loved and appreciated! GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND KEEP YOU SAFE!

----------

To all those military moms who raised amazing, dedicated, service-focused young Americans who defend our freedoms each day, thank you.

----------

To an incredibly strong and dedicated family,

Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for all that you give up to protect my family and our freedoms. As the mother of a Navy Midshipmen, I can only pray that his future family will become as strong and courageous as yours.

I will pray for you and all of our Military, every day. Thank you so much for your courage and your strength.

Fondly and with gratitude for you,

Tamara Wilson

I am the daughter of a retired military colonel. I know the sacrifices families have to make to dedicate their lives in service of our country. A simple thank you will never be enough. But please know we love and support you. We've been there. We know.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

----------

Thank you so much for all you are willing to sacrifice -- time with your spouse or parent, a consistent schedule, a predictable living situation, and so much more.

From what my friends and family have told me who are military families, it takes a lot of endurance to do what you do and you have to live with a lot of heartache.

Know that what you do is remembered and appreciated -- without families like yours, I wouldn't have the freedom I too often take for granted.

Forever grateful,
Kylie

I didn't go into the Service. So when I see a Service member, a Police person or Firefighter, I have to shake their hand! And thank them for their service. So I really need to thank the whole family.

So I thank you and your sacrifice,
for your husband or for your wife,
for your son and daughter too,
I can't stop thanking you.
for your dad and your mom,
for keeping my family from harm.
for keeping this country of ours great,
I hope it's not too late,
To thank you
and your Service Member too!

Sincerely, Ken S.
God Bless

Hello,
My family is safe and happily all together in beautiful Idaho USA. We have a great life. We know that without the sacrifice of our military and their families we wouldn't have this life.
Thank you spouses for holding down the fort and enduring lonely days and long nights.
Thank you Moms and Dads of MP for your pride. You did well as parents.
Thank you siblings.
Thank you most of all to the children of our heroes. You will always be in my prayers. You will grow and sometimes cry. Be proud! You are special! You are made from a hero. You are a hero too!
With love and endless respect,

So often, people focus on expressing gratitude to the one who is in the service. We express appreciation for THEIR sacrifice, for THEIR commitment. We ignore the sacrifice, commitment, and loyalty of the family. It's not easy being the ones left behind, expected to go on with their normal lives. So I want to take the time and thank YOU - the family, for the love l, support, and sacrifice you give your loved one (and, in the process, all of us).

----------

Dear Dedicated Ones:
We are not a military family, but we live very close to Fort Campbell, KY and are constantly aware of families who are missing their loved ones.
A simple thank you doesn't seem adequate, but it's really all I have to give you - thank you for your sacrifice, thank you for your willingness to be far from your loved one in order that he or she can serve us and make the world a better place.

SINCERELY,
Fred and Carol Myers

Dear Military Family,
I would like to thank the members in the family who are in the military, it impresses me how strong and brave you're to leave your family and fight for our country. Also, to the rest of the family for staying strong while there close one is serving for our country. I can only imagine how difficult this must be but I would like to thank you all for everything you do for our country. Forever I'll be grateful for your service. Your family will be kept in my prayers. God bless your family.
Sincerely,
Caroline Hudson

Thank you for the sacrifices your family makes each and every day for our freedom. We would not be the wonderfully free nation that we are today without families like yours. God bless you all.

----------

Dear Military Family,

Thank you so much for your service to the citizens of the United States. Thank you for the sacrifices that each of you make every day to ensure the safety and freedom of the citizens of the United States. My heart both breaks and sings when I see families reunite with their military service member. I am so appreciative of you and pray for safety for you and your loved ones.

May God bless you all.

With warm regards,

Janet

Dear Military Family,

Too often the struggles (emotional, mental and physical) you face are overlooked. Like the sleepless nights while your service member is away or the many first/special moments at school, work, home or play that your service member missed because of deployment or training. Please know that you are always on my mind and in my prayers. I hope that you are given strength, happiness, will and courage in those tough moments when all you want or need is for them to lean on.

Military Family, the work you do as a team to keep the fort together is so appreciated. So, keep it up! You've got this! The sacrifices you make and face everyday don't go unnoticed. Feel reassured the next time you feel overlooked that you are not.

God bless our Military Service Members.
God you, Military Family.
God bless the U.S.A.

Sincerely,
H.V.R-R

Thank you for serving and thank your family for understanding. The sacrifice is from all of you. Few of us truly know the impact and stresses on everyday life. God bless you!

----------

I am so grateful to your family for the sacrifices that you make whether you are stateside or deployed. Family support is necessary in order for every military member to do their job. Even those that do not have typical families, I know that you all support each other in that family connection. Thank you again for everything that you have committed to keep America safe on Arsenal or foreign soils. God bless you and keep you and your family safe

----------

A simple and earnest thank you for every and each member of your family for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis for my freedom. God bless you most.

----------

Thank you to all spouses and their family for all that you do while your spouse is away. Your support is greatly appreciated. Enjoy this month in support of you.

Thank you, and God bless!!

----------

I just want to thank you. I know how hard it can be, being away from your loved ones. I didn't know the impact the military life had until our son left for boot camp. It's not easy on them, or us. Thank you for your support. I'm so proud to be a part of the military family and support our troops. Your troop has sacrificed so much for our country and it's truly humbling. I'm proud to be an american.

Sincerely,

Krystal
