R. Riveter Responds to COVID-19 Concerns

Like many companies across the country, R.Riveter has been evolving with the growing impact of COVID-19. With that evolution comes a mix of positive growth and difficult decisions. Here is a small re-cap of how R.Riveter has chosen a proactive & innovative approach in these uncertain times.

A Volunteer Riveter Nation is Born: Calling on Modern Day Rosies to Make Personal Protective Equipment

As the healthcare system in the U.S. is strained to manage the current crisis — facing surge capacity of patients — many healthcare workers do not have the proper personal protection equipment (PPE) available to them. PPE such as N95 face masks, is absolutely critical to keeping our healthcare workers on the front lines safe; yet this gear is widely unavailable to them due to widespread purchasing of these items by consumers.

The CDC has outlined that in a crisis situation, when approved PPE masks are not available, healthcare workers may resort to a handmade mask as a last resort or use a mask cover. Millions of handmade masks and covers are now needed. R.Riveter is calling anyone who knows how to sew or has access to raw materials to be a modern day Rosie the Riveter and contribute to the cause.

R.Riveter is has provided a template to make a homemade mask cover to donate to healthcare systems, essential workers, or anyone that may be at increased risk and is asking anyone with the skillset to make these masks or supplies needed to produce them to join the movement.

Store Closure Response

R.Riveter has been forced with the impossible decision to close our North Carolina and Ohio locations until further notice.

Our employees are our number one concern at this time. Due to the domino effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have deemed it our best option for everyone involved.

While we will absolutely miss seeing your faces in our retail stores –RRiveter.com and our social channels remain open and viable. Our Remote Riveters continue to remain active.

Our Florida Facility continues to produce not only handbags but also masks and isolation gowns in order to come to the aid of health care workers nationwide in the face of a PPE shortage.

We’d also like to note that COVID has affected many of our partners, so while we do our best to ship items in a timely manner, there may be a slight delay in shipping windows.

Our motto Of Many, One -  feels more relevant now than ever. Take care of yourself and each other.

In service and gratitude,
The R. Riveter Team.
