All About R.Riveter's Brand Ambassador of the Month, Shanae L.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

Hi! My name is Shanae. I am just an island girl living in a mainland world as I follow my Soldier wherever the Army sends us. We are only two duty stations and one deployment in, but we are loving the tight-knit, supportive community and all the relationships we’ve had the opportunity to form as a result. I am a follower of Jesus, a passionate slow fashion blogger and small business advocate. I spend a lot of time with my dog and trying to keep as many plants alive as possible. I am an avid thrifter, people lover, coffee enthusiast, amateur photographer, and full-time homemaker. I feel a deep connection to the ocean and miss being on it and in it with my family like crazy. We hope to end up back in Hawaii one day,  but are enjoying all of the new places we get to explore until then!

Why did you want to be an R.Riveter Brand Ambassador?

I think all of us long to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, and when I heard about R.Riveter, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of their mission in some way. R.Riveter embodies my passion for small business, slow fashion, and my new identity as a military spouse all in one. I love the personal connection I feel to each woman who made the bags I carry, and I love the community of spouses who I have had the honor to meet as a result of the connection to R.Riveter.


What is your favorite R.Riveter bag?

It’s so hard to pick as I am always rotating, but I would have to say the Otto! I am obsessed with the handles and its ideal shape! It is literally the perfect grab and go bag. I love sporting the comfortable leather crossbody strap all day long from errands, to walks, to girls night outs! The easily accessible front pockets and the fact that the large part of the bag completely zips shut are all things that also make the Otto a great travel bag!

5 Fun facts about you:

- I have completed 3 full marathons and 2 half marathons, but my knees and I think we will stick to 5Ks now

- I studied piano in college and taught beginner lessons to all age groups for about 5 years

- Being one of four girls has taught me to cherish my female friends as sisters

- I am a 4 on the Enneagram and currently obsessed with knowing everyone else’s!

- My husband and I met on Tinder and dated long distance up until we got married!
