Honoring Her Service: Women Veterans Day 2025
On June 12th, we pause to honor the remarkable contributions of women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Women Veterans Day is more than a date on the calendar—it's a moment to reflect on the legacy, resilience, and courage of the women who have stepped up to serve our country, often in the face of great adversity.
At R. Riveter, this day holds deep meaning. We were founded by military spouses, built by military families, and powered by a community that intimately understands the sacrifices tied to service. But we also know that for far too long, the stories of women veterans have gone untold—despite the fact that they’ve always been on the front lines of change.

Why June 12th Matters
Women Veterans Day commemorates the signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act in 1948. This landmark legislation allowed women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. military. While women had served in every conflict since the American Revolution, this act finally granted them formal recognition and paved the way for generations of women to follow.
Today, women make up approximately 17% of our military force—and that number continues to grow. From pilots and medics to commanders and combat veterans, their roles are vital, their experiences unique, and their service undeniable.

Beyond the Uniform
At R. Riveter, we believe in honoring women veterans not only for what they’ve done in uniform—but for who they are beyond it. They’re makers, leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates. They take their skills and discipline from the military and turn them into powerful engines of creativity and change in civilian life.
We’re proud to support women as they transition into new chapters—whether through employment, empowerment, or simply by sharing their stories. Every signature R. Riveter bag is handmade by military spouses across the country. With each stitch, we carry their stories forward.
