Each R.Riveter handbag takes a journey across the country before arriving at your doorstep. Components are crafted by independent military spouses in their homes around the nation, and shipped to R.Riveter's FabShop to be assembled into a one-of-a-kind product.
While we love a good handbag, there's just something so functional and freeing about a wristlet. These timeless colors will work well in any season, with any outfit!
ABOUT R.RIVETER’S BLOOMSBURY THOUGHTS COLLECTION
Bloomsbury Thoughts celebrates the thinker and the innovator in you. We reflect on the group of writers, thinkers, and artists who paved the way for modern thought about women and how they relate to the world around them. They empowered women to live life in its fullest and to step out of the status quo. The spacious skies and simplicity of the countryside they resided on are the inspiration behind these vintage patterns and hues. Close your eyes, take a breath of fresh open air, and allow yourself to be transported to a retreat.
This is Bloomsbury Thoughts. This is inspiration calling for you to come find it.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME
In the heat of WWII, 20-year-old Naomi Parker Fraley went to work at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA. She was assigned to a machine shop, where her duties included drilling, patching airplane wings, and riveting. It was in this shop where a newspaper photographer captured a photo of Fraley working, hair tied up in a telltale polkadot headscarf. This photo was likely the inspiration of an American wartime propaganda poster produced by J. Howard Miller for an electric company, intended to be an inspirational image to boost worker morale. The poster was never meant for public display, and had been all but forgotten during WWII. In the early 1980's, a copy resurfaced and "Rosie the Riveter" became a symbol of female strength and empowerment.
The Naomi Zipper Clutch will forever remind women everywhere that we too, can do it.
Maintenance of R. Riveter Leather:
We love using real veg tanned leather in our handbags because they just better with age. If you happen to get scratches or water marks, you can usually get the bag looking new again with just a little maintenance.
