Hope Design Ltd.
My name is Lauren and I am a proud and passionate wife of an US Army tanker, as well as mother to little boys. I enjoy creating jewelry to find sanity within our otherwise unpredictable military life! I am so very proud of my husband Greg, as he currently teaches Military History at the United States Military Academy.
It is my husband's passion for military history that has inspired me to create Hope Design Ltd. There are so many beautifully crafted buttons and insignia to inspire me. Not only are the medals and militaria beautiful in design, but the significance behind them means so much more. I hope to honor the veterans and heroes of our country by crafting hand made works of art in their honor.
Hope Design Ltd is a veteran and family owned and operated business. Originally Frosted Hope Jewelry, which grew from a 'create by night while my little ones sleep' to an Etsy store, and now into the now ever-refining Hope Design Ltd brand, licensed by the United States Military Academy and the United States Marine Corps. One thing is for certain, there is much more to come.
It is easier to prevent tarnish on your sterling silver jewelry than to have to try to remove it after it occurs. Over time, any sterling silver jewelry exposed to air will tarnish. Comprised of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals (usually copper and tin, but not mandatory). It is the other metals, typically copper, that make sterling silver tarnish. The copper reacts to oxygen, moisture, and sulfur in the air, causing the sterling silver tarnish, also known as oxidize. Silver tarnishes faster in areas with high humidity and air pollution. Chemicals like hairspray, perfume, deodorant, body lotion, bleach, etc., can speed up the tarnishing process. To slow down tarnishing, clean your silver jewelry after wearing it. Oils from your skin accumulate on the surface of silver and can predispose it to oxidization. Silver stores best in airtight plastic bags with an anti-tarnish strip. Use warm water to wash your jewelry items gently and dry them with a soft cloth. Tarnishing can be delayed by regularly polishing your silver jewelry.
