Rosie the Riveter wasn’t the only icon to be born out of the 1940s. The original Go Anywhere, Do Anything vehicle that came to be known as the Jeep® also got its start, supporting our troops during WWII in an equally important way.
Fast forward 80 years. Two brands that still embody that generation’s can-do attitude and sense of adventure are teaming up to honor that history by creating a series of Limited Edition Jeep® x R.Riveter products. We hope these bags will remind you every time you pick them up that no matter where your adventure takes you, find the joy in it.
The Doyle is a fashion forward crossbody bag. On the exterior, it offers three pockets for quick access to keys, phone, and other essentials. Wear The Doyle multiple ways with the removable adjustable crossbody strap , the singular, shorter, attached leather shoulder strap or our new removable, adjustable 1.5" woven nylon statement strap.
The brass feet allow you to keep the bag clean and upright and the magnetic snap closure allows you to get in and out of your bag in a breeze. On the interior, there are two open pockets, one zippered pocket, and plenty of space for notebooks and more to keep everything you need on hand.
Each R.Riveter handbag takes a journey across the country before arriving at your doorstep. Components are crafted by independent military spouses in their homes around the nation, and shipped to R.Riveter's FabShop to be assembled into a one-of-a-kind product.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME
The Doyle handbag is named after Geraldine Doyle, who was the inspiration behind the famous Rosie the Riveter poster and the icon for which our company is named. Mrs. Doyle answered the WWII call to duty and joined the workforce in 1942 at the young age of 17 years old. After her high school graduation, Mrs. Doyle took her first job at the American Broach and Machine Co. near her hometown in Inkster, Michigan as a metal stamper. While working at the factory the United Press International (UPI) visited the factory and took a photo of her, which later inspired the “WE CAN DO IT” poster. Shortly after leaving the factory industry, Mrs. Bell began work at a soda shop where she met a dentist and married. Once married to Leo Doyle, Mrs. Doyle had six children and worked as office manager at her husband’s dentist practice until she was 75 years old.
Maintenance of R. Riveter Leather:
We love using real veg tanned leather in our handbags because they just better with age. If you happen to get scratches or water marks, you can usually get the bag looking new again with just a little maintenance.

Canvas Care Suggestions:
When spot cleaning the canvas, we suggest using a brush or sponge with water only to wipe it off soiled area. We do not recommend using anything other than water as it could discolor canvas material.
